It is very happening this month for road cycling!

It is an exciting month for road cycling this month both local and international, amateur or professional level. One thing for sure, registration for following events is most;y closed. Of course, the largest bicycles trade show on earth has just over, Taipei Cycle Show, if you have missed it like I do (because I still can't afford for the trip)...

Alright, coming back to our April event schedule, we have Le Tour de Langkawi to watch and participate as audience or supporter coming this Saturday. The highlight for this year includes Genting Highland stage where I wished to ride some day (we are not allowed and dangerous to ride without road closure due to high traffic load). So good to be a pro riders. There are few roads serve as race track would be closed throughout the race from 6 to 13 April depending on the race progress, you could check it out here.

Following up the next day, we have stage 2 of Le Tour at Malaysia's capital city, CIMB Foundation Criterium Series 2 for this year and Tour of Flanders to watch. It is good to see some private organization is willing to pour out some resources to nurture young rider for our nation, not to mention our national champion, Azizulhasni Awang is backed by them, too. If you have access to Eurosports channel, remember to switch on your TV to watch another world professional classic race to see how those pros are churning it on the cobbles path to victory. I wonder what trick would the bike mechanics use to tackle those tough roads this year.

Yep, only for junior
Speaking of cobbles, we cannot miss the trademark event of this category by not saying Paris-Roubaix which would happen on following weekend! Again, if you have access to any media stream of this race, you shouldn't miss this cobble classic race.

Happening on the same weekend, we have some local leisure event which are still open for registration except Langkawi Ride 2019.

Recently, there is new ruling on how we CANNOT travel to this beautiful with our lovely bikes with conventional ferry. Kindly check with organizer to arrange for this if you have signed up for this event and you are going to the event through land and sea.

Pedu Lake Revisit BRM400 and Kayuhan Rekreasi Setia Alam 2019 are still open for registration, kindly click respective links to check further details of the events. The former brings you an endurance ride to one of the beautiful lakes in northern region of Malaysia while the later gives a leisure ride in a new residential area at Selangor state. That Audax route is very similar to the very first Audax BRM I attempted 2 years ago (BRM400 Penang 2017) so would I attempt it again? Not for this year as I have other goals for this year and I need to raise fund to attend some bicycles related courses. Depending on your experience in ultra distance cycling, it can be tough or easy but I reckon it is going to be not so hot since rainy season of northern region has kicked in. If you wanna know more about Audax Randonneuring, you could check out Adrian's YouTube channel for more insight!

As we are approaching to third weekend of April 2019, we have Epic Ride 2019 and CIMB Cycle 2019 which are held for numerous for now and I am gonna say these 2 events are well organized based on my past experience. The former would give endless S-curves climbs routes and crossing border into our neighboring country and cycle back to homeland on second day while the later is no doubt, a fast pace race where majority of the routes is flat.

Last weekend of April gives us another reason to switch on TV to watch another classic series of world pro race, the Liège-Bastogne-Liège. This year, new route is featured so I guess more surprise to witness for new riders. Gonna say pro cycling seems to be having shift to new blood recently as we could witness from few races just past. As for the local scenario, we another annual fellowship ride by TNB at Janamanjung like previous year. Where is that you asked? Do you know where is Pulau Pangkor, the infamous tourist spot? It is just opposite of the island thus it is common that those coming not from Perak would travel to the island before and after the ride for quick recharge from busy urban life.

That's it for this month, and oh, do you notice there are a lot of marketing virtual challenge on Strava recently? I assume this is the beginning of summer season for EU and US regions...
